CORE Services
CHANGE MANAGEMENT
Though not as concrete as a production line, not as quantifiable as a budgeting process, not as tangible as a supply-chain, the dynamic of organizational change, like other business processes and systems, is subject to certain “laws” and principles. It can be optimized if managed according to certain best-practices. And it must be managed as such in order to ensure quality “outputs.”
We help clients accelerate positive change in their organizations by working with them to ensure that their important change initiative is managed consistent with the widely-acknowledged and fundamental phases of any effective change management process

ASSESSMENT
We believe in knowledge-based consulting engagements that ensure addressing root causes, not just symptoms. Though clients usually have definite ideas about the problems that plague them and their organizations, it is best practice to gather objective data and talk to key stakeholders before implementing a solution or launching significant organizational change.
Our approach to organizational assessment usually involves some combination of the following elements:
Interviews

STRATEGIC PLANNING
Our associates are experienced strategic planning consultants. We can help you and your executive team develop an integrated strategic plan that builds clarity and consensus among you on a critical game-plan for the future success of your business. Just as importantly, our team-based approach to strategic plan development orchestrates the involvement of your key stakeholders in a way that optimizes your chances for successful plan implementation. And as any executive leader knows, a strategic plan is only as good as your ability to execute it effectively.
BUSINESS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
Having the right strategy is critical to business success. But strategy without effective execution amounts to little more than making a wish in the right direction. And nothing is more critical to sound execution than effective, efficient business processes.
Weak business processes waste time and money, and almost always have a negative impact on product or service quality. They can also demoralize even the hardest-working individuals when their efforts are overwhelmed by a larger “system” over which they have little individual control.
This is where our business process improvement consulting capability and experience can help.

TEAM EFFECTIVENESS
Senior executive teams and boards of directors face special challenges to effective team performance. Issues of governance, strategy and succession play out amidst the interaction of powerful individuals with a complex mix of styles, relationships and strong personalities. We can help identify needs with confidential executive/board team assessments, style/”fit” assessments and new manager assimilation processes. More comprehensively, our Team-based Strategic Planning Process offers the best approach for building clarity and consensus on enterprise direction and strategy in this high-powered and vital circle of corporate governance.
Whether your need involves the company’s most senior management group, task or project teams or change-acceleration teams, we can help. Since our founding, we have helped to charter, facilitate and guide the implementation efforts of literally hundreds of teams – many in global, cross-cultural settings – across a wide array of industries and for a wide variety of companies.

EXECUTIVE COACHING
There are times when providing a new or key executive or high-potential up-and-comer with specialized, focused attention can pay dividends, not just for the individual, but for the company as well. Personalized Business Executive Coaching can help shorten “learning curves,” illuminate “blind spots,” and enhance the performance of an important contributor by considerably accelerating the acquisition of new insights, skills and behaviors. Our approach to business executive coaching begins with selective, “360-degree,” confidential interviews of the executive coaching subject’s peers, subordinates and superiors. We observe or “shadow” the subject in the workplace, solo and in meetings. Working one-on-one with the subject, we review past and present career situations as well as longer-term goals. We then create a “Constituency Map,” which, at a glance, depicts in graphic form, the subject’s relative position “suppliers,” “customers,” superiors and subordinates.
The “Constituency Map” provides an opportunity to critically assess time and deliverables currently devoted to each constituency against the level of priority appropriate to each. In addition, the “Map” serves as a prompt for assessing skills required to “deliver” and “gaps” in those skills.
Where appropriate, the administration of style-assessment instruments can be integrated into this phase, providing the executive coaching subject with greater insight into the realm of work style — the subject’s own and that of colleagues as well.
